Biography

Rebecca Schewe is an Associate Professor of Sociology and Senior Research Associate in the Center for Policy Research. She received her Ph.D. in sociology and master''s in rural sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After completing a postdoc at Michigan State University’s Kellogg Biological Station, she was an Assistant Professor at Mississippi State University for three years before joining the faculty here at Syracuse University. Becky''s research focuses on the relationship between humans and the natural environment. Through interdisciplinary partnerships, her research examines how the major social institutions of the state, economy, and community structure our human interactions with ecosystems. Full Biography
