Background

Professor Noe is one of the foremost academic authorities in the area of training and development.

He is an author of three texts in human resource management, including_Employee Training and Development_, which includes a section on use of the technologies in training, and has published extensively in such publications as the Journal of Applied Psychology, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Organizational Behavior and Personnel Psychology.

He has consulted with several companies, including Strategic Interactive and General Motors Assurance Corporation, on training and development issues.

Measure & develop performance of individuals & groups & align performance with organization's strategic objectives; methods, theories, research findings, issues regarding employee performance in organizations. Prereq: Not open to students with credit for 849.

BUSMHR 7314 Designing Learning Systems

Course will cover the learning function in organizations broadly defined to include training, development, knowledge management and career management. The concepts, methods, and issues discussed in the course are applicable to all types of organizations and jobs.

BUSMHR 4328 Performance Management

Course is an overview of managing human resources across borders, with emphasis on the strategies and practices of multinational corporations, and examines the opportunities & challenges of operating in a global economy, how crossnational differences shape approaches to business and human resource management, and analysis of future trends and challenges in international human resource management. Prereq: Enrollment in MHRM program.

BUSMHR 7301 Conceptual and Historical Foundations of Labor and Human Resource Management

The history of Human Resources and its role in organizations & society. Prereq: Not open to students with credit for 851 or 852.
