UW Professional & Continuing Education

Ramulu Mamidala has been a faculty member in the UW Department of Mechanical Engineering since 1982, as well as an adjunct professor in the Departments of Industrial & Systems Engineering and Materials Science & Engineering. He’s published hundreds of technical papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings, edited five ASME symposium proceedings and co-edited the book Machining of Ceramics and Composites.

Mamidala is one of the founding members of the journal Machining Science and Technology and serves as a member of the editorial boards of five other scientific journals. He’s a fellow of ASM, ASME, SEM and SME. His work has received numerous honors including the 2012 UW Distinguished Contribution to Lifelong Learning Award and the 2013 American Society for Engineering Education Isadore T. Davis Award for Excellence in Collaboration of Engineering Education and Industry. He has an MTech in production engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington.
