Ralph is the Chief Representative of the Taylor Wessing Shanghai office. He is assigned to the firm’s general corporate practice advising multinational as well as medium-sized corporations on their business operations and investments in mainland China. He mainly works on foreign direct investment, mergers & acquisitions, and corporate restructurings. Ralph further heads the China employment and social insurance practice. He advises clients from various industries, with an emphasis on the chemical sector.
Prior to joining Taylor Wessing in 2002 as a partner, Ralph had worked as a lawyer with a large international law firm in Beijing. Due to his long term secondment to China for more than 15 years, Ralph has established close contacts with relevant national and local authorities and institutions. He served as a member of the boards of both the EU and the German Chambers of Commerce in Shanghai. Since 2010, he is elected as member to the board of the German School in Shanghai, for which he serves as chairman since 2012. Ralph is a German native speaker and further speaks English, Mandarin and French.
