SDA Bocconi School of Management

Raffaella Saporito is an Associate Professor of Practice of Government, Health and Not for Profit at SDA Bocconi School of Management.

She has been the Director of the Executive Master in Management of Public Administration (EMMAP) and of the post-graduate course in Management of Public Administration (MAP). She has delivered research and education projects to public managers from central and local governments on change management and people management. She teaches in both Italian and in English in master and executive programs.

Her research activities focus on organization and people management in public institutions. Currently, she is working on three main topics: managing public managers (selection, job rotation, development); public leadership models; logics and tools to boost public managers’ development.

She is the author of books and articles on the selection of Public Managers: her works have been published in OCAP, OASI, Azienda Pubblica, Economia & Management, il Sole 24 Ore, among others. Her work on public management education and development was published in the international journal Teaching Public Administration and for Leuven University Press. She was a Visiting Scholar at the Business School at the University of Edinburgh. She is also a certified ICF – ACTP coach and a member of the SDA Bocconi coaching team for the development of SDA Bocconi Master Students’ leadership skills.

Raffaella earned a Diplôme Sciences PO from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris, a degree in International and Diplomatic Sciences from the dall’Università degli Studi di Torino, a Master in Public Management from SDA Bocconi and a Ph.D. in Public Management from the Università degli Studi di Parma. She has attended specialized programs to develop her teaching skills and tools at Harvard Business School and the Kellogg School of Management at Chicago Northwestern University. Raffaella’s vision: “There’s no change without learning, and no learning without change”.
