Rachel Berger is a designer in Oakland, and associate professor and chair of Graphic Design at California College of the Arts. Her work focuses on identity design, information systems, visual and technological experimentation, and writing.

Recent clients and collaborators include: CLOG, Dear Design Student, Design Observer, Felix Talkin, Felner & Company, Hillel Office of Innovation, Impact Fund, Mathew Kneebone, Pinterest, Pussy Party Collective, Project Legal Link, Resilient By Design Challenge: All Bay Collective, Role Models, SF Magazine, Tipping Point Community, Transport Oakland, University of California Press, and Works That Work.

Previously, Rachel was a senior designer at SYPartners in San Francisco, where she worked with clients such as Virgin America, Levi Strauss & Co., AARP, Hyatt, IBM, Groupon, and AT&T. She has also worked at Pentagram Design in New York, working on Michael Bierut’s team for clients such as Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, the Museum of Arts and Design, and Saks Fifth Avenue.

She holds an MFA in Graphic Design and a BA in American Studies, both from Yale University.
