Quynh-Huong Nguyen Van

My name is Quynh-Huong Nguyen Van and I am a Minnesota licensed English and Language Arts teacher for grades 5-12. I received my BA in English and my Master’s in Education from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. I have volunteered at schools of varying grade levels in the Twin Cities, including Pratt Community School, Venture Academy, and Columbia Heights High School. I have also taught in Pondicherry, India during the 2018-2019 school year after receiving the Fulbright grant.

My interests lie in urban schooling and culturally relevant pedagogy. Mediums of literature I would like to include in the curriculum include poetry, comics, and works by feminist and multicultural authors. I would also like to expand the analysis and production of media from mainly text to newer forms of media such as vlogs and podcasts.
