Ping Zhang

Biography

Ping Zhang (M’07–SM’14) received the B.S. degree in electronic communication engineering and the M.S. degree in biomedical engineering from Chongqing University, China, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the Center for Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence, Concordia University, Montreal, Canada. He was a Visiting Scholar with Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia, in 1998 and a Research Fellow with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, from 1992 to 2001. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science Department, Alcorn State University, USA. He has authored a few book chapters and published over 40 research papers in journals and conferences in the fields of pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, image processing, and computer vision. He reviewed over 60 research papers and research grants. As PIs and Co-PIs, his research projects have been supported by USDA, DOD, and NIH.
