In 2019, Dr. Philippe Bouvier has founded in Lyon the French National Institute of Research in Urban Management focusing on research, executive education and innovative product development in the urban environment.

Since 2015, Dr. Bouvier has also delivered multiple courses (workshops, under/post graduate programs and executive courses) in multiple countries like France, Nothern Ireland, Kuwait, India, China, Mauritius Island and the U.A.E. (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah) regarding urban digital transformation in smart and sustainable cities, business strategies, urban studies, innovation and entrepreneurship, to thousands of learners (from university students to C-level).

Dr. Bouvier is a recognized international expert in UN-SDGs, urban digital transformation, critical infrastructure protection, and in the integration of complex systems. He is also a recognized expert at the European Commission in Security Risk Management.

Dr. Bouvier has 20 years of experience in Consulting, Project management, Audit, Research, Marketing, Communications, Sales, Mergers and acquisitions, Business development, Team leadership and Entrepreneurship.

He has a worldwide practical experience of consulting and technical architecture design in multiple sectors including integrated urban infrastructures’ management, urban security, public water, energy, public transportations, oil and gas, airports, air bases, banks, ships and aircraft.

He holds an Executive MBA at INSEAD in Singapore and a PhD from Paris University. His PhD is in urban studies (urbanism and urban management). The title of his thesis is “From segmented management in modern cities to systemic governance in sustainable cities”. He is concerned with future cities and has developed an innovative business model to support urban sustainability.

He devotes time to publish his thoughts in articles, and present them at conferences.

Dr. Bouvier is also an Adjunct Professor in multiple universities in urban digital transformation, strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship, a keynote speaker (UN-HABITAT, MEED, I&ESC 2018) and the author of numerous articles (INSEAD Knowledge, Vision, UN-HABITAT).
