Overview

Philip is undertaking a PhD in Health Economics funded by the Alumni Research Impact Scholarship. His research over the PhD will focus on the development of methods to identify and measure spillovers in the implemenetation of quality improvement programs.

Biography

Philip joined Manchester’s Centre for Health Economics (MCHE) on the NIHR Research Methods Internship between the second and third year of his undergraduate degree and continued his research with the centre throughout an NIHR Research Methods Fellowship. He is now studying full-time towards a PhD.

Philip has been involved in a wide range of research projects to date that have investigated the determinants of GPs wages, hospital upcoding, and the association between preoperative mental health and surgical wound complications.
