Biography
Peter R. Gillies is a native Texan and dual American and Dutch citizen. He has lived in the USA, Norway, Saudi Arabia, and the Netherlands and worked in a global context mainly in business operations and human resources. Dr. Gillies has a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Indianapolis where he played American football and an MBA from European University in The Hague. In 2005 he received his Doctorate (organizational psychology) from the University of Bradford – The Psychological Shadow of the Organization his dissertation subject linking people, culture, and strategy to understand and drive organizational effectiveness.
He is the owner of GMD, a consultancy focused on organizational development in the areas of top-team development, management development, human resources development, coaching, and applications of behavioral economics to business operations.
For the last 15 years he has taught strategy, leadership, human resources, and organizational behavior part-time at the University of Amsterdam, European University, University of Phoenix (Rotterdam) and TIAS. His training activities have mainly focused on facilitated strategy sessions and management skills training at IBM, UPC, Philips Lighting and Eurochambres.
