Biography

Bristol Business School

My research encompasses leadership studies, organizational development and international development. For the past four years I have acted as a programme management consultant for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation funded Malaria Elimination Initiative (MEI) at the University of California San Francisco, advising on projects in the Greater Mekong Sub-region. I am currently leading a management development project for the MEI in southern Africa. In addition, I have extensive experience of leading rural development projects in Lao People's Democratic Republic funded by the Australian Centre for Agricultural Research. My research is geared toward 'making a difference' to the well being of others and achieving impact beyond academia.

I have extensive experience of running and teaching on leadership and executive development programmes internationally, incluing acting as a tutor for the London Business School EMBA core module ‘Business Ethics and Corporate Responsibility’. Area of expertise I have acted as an academic and personal coach to a number of senior executives in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. My organizational and leadership development consultancy experience includes working with the UK NHS and a variety of other public and private sector organizations.

I am currently a member of the editorial boards of: Leadership, the Journal of Leadership and Organizational Development, Leadership & the Humanities, Journal of Management, Spirituality and Religion, and Social Business. I was co-Editor in Chief of Culture & Organization (Routledge) 2007-10.

I am a fellow of the Leadership Trust and fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Publications
