Perry Hartswick

My name is Perry Hartswick and I am running for the Millbrook Board of Education. For the past six years, I have served as a member, and was elected President for the past 2 years, of the Millbrook Board of Education. It has been my honor and privilege to serve the District to the best of my ability. It has been a challenging and rewarding experience, especially these last two years.

Personally, I have lived in Millbrook for the past 43 years. In that time, my wife and I have raised two children proudly attending K-12 in the MCSD. Currently, both my daughter and my wife are employed in the Millbrook Central School District; while my son is a Lighting Architect on Long Island. I attribute my children’s success to the excellent educational system in MCSD as it formed a strong foundation going forward.

I have five grandchildren, three of whom are enrolled in the District. Professionally I spent 37 years working for IBM in many roles that took me around the world to many countries. I have been retired for almost 4 years. Currently, I have been teaching Sustainable Engineering Technology while working on my PhD in Advanced Technology for Sustainability at Villanova University in Pennsylvania.
