Pernille is currently Chief of UNICEF''s Gaza Field Office, where she leads UNICEF''s emergency response across the Gaza Strip in the occupied Palestinian territory, to protect children. She has been in Gaza since August 2013. Pernille joined the UN in 2002 and served in various other roles, including in the Philippines, Yemen, Pakistan, Nepal, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and as UNICEF''s global adviser on child protection in emergencies at Headquarters in New York.
