Overview
I am a translational neuroscientist with expertise in the generation and characterisation of experimental models of neurological disease. I am currently developing an independent line of research studying pathological mechanisms in haemorrhagic stroke - in the context of both rare inherited disorders and sporadic forms of intracerebral haemorrhage. In collaboration with the Manchester Stroke Research group, I am specifically investigating the use of zebrafish larvae as an alternative pre-clinical approach for studying the innate immune response to brain injury following haemorrhage.
