Dr. Francis has over 25 years of private and public sector experience in quality and risk management in various industries including health care, manufacturing, finance, higher education, and food processing. His diverse professional and academic background allows him to bring both breadth and depth to the topics taught. In addition to being a Professor at the Pilon School of Business, Sheridan College, Dr. Francis has been teaching in the risk management program at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies for several years, as well as being an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto and Toronto School of Management in the Digital Enterprise Management and Business Administration programs respectively. He also an Instructor in the Business Administration Department at Tyndale University College & Seminary. Prior to, and concurrent with some of the aforementioned roles, Dr. Francis worked at the Bank of Montreal, Ministry of Health including community health care, and Ontario Financing Authority in various risk, information technology, policy, and quality management positions. He was also previously the Quality Manager at Tiffany Gate Foods and Pepsi-Cola Inc. respectively. Dr. Francis holds several designations including Risk Management (CRM), Quality Engineer (CQE), Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB), Business Process Management (CBPP), and Project Management (PMP). In addition to his B.Sc. honours degree in mathematics and chemistry, Dr. Francis holds three postgraduate degrees/diplomas in management studies, business administration (finance & banking), financial engineering (mathematical finance), and health sciences.
