Paddy rejoined Shell at the end of 2006 to lead its Global Leadership Development Practice, and now serves as VP of Enterprise Learning & Leadership Development. Paddy’s first stint at Shell was from 1984 to ’92, when he worked as an project engineer in the Upstream business in Europe and Middle East. In between, Paddy had a 13 year ‘sabbatical’ at McKinsey & Company in Asia and Europe, and where he was part of the Firm’s Organization Practice leadership group, with a focus on building organizations’ leadership and performance culture. Paddy established the McKinsey Leadership Institute Asia Pacific, supporting the Firm’s clients across the region. He was also jointly responsible for the global leadership development programs for McKinsey’s Partner group. Paddy originally graduated in Engineering and Mathematics from Trinity College Dublin, and later completed an MBA at INSEAD in France. Beyond his professional interests, Paddy is passionate about several things: his partner Liz and their daughters Rhiannon and Croiadh, his extended family and friends, mountaineering and sailing – he shares a one-design racing boat with friends.
