Biography

Widely recognised as one of Australia's leading infrastructure and construction lawyers, Owen recently founded infralegal - specialising in providing strategic legal and commercial advice on major projects. A former partner of Clayton Utz, PwC and DLA Piper, he has over 25 years’ experience in the structuring, procurement, negotiation and contract management of complex projects including dispute avoidance and resolution strategies.
Owen is experienced in all forms of contracting including traditional, collaborative and relationship-based contracting (alliancing, integrated project delivery, delivery partner model, managing contractor), operating franchises, facilities maintenance contracts and public private partnerships (PPPs). He is a Senior Fellow at the University of Melbourne, a council member of the Australian branch of IPFA and a past chair of Thought Leadership at the Society of Construction Law Australia.
