Omar Mouallem

I’m a three-time National Magazine Awards winning writer whose stories have appeared in NewYorker.com, Rolling Stone, The Guardian, WIRED and more (see below). I’ve edited numerous magazines, co-directed a documentary for CBC, and guest-hosted several episodes of CANADALAND, one of the country's most popular podcasts. I coauthored and ghostwrote two Globe & Mail national bestsellers. My new book, Praying to the West, a travel memoir about Muslims in the Americas, will be released by Simon & Schuster in 2021.

My skills include editorial management, substantive and copy editing, research, interviewing, social media management, online publishing, and audio/video editing. Throughout my career I've mentored dozens of now-acclaimed writers and journalist, as well as at-risk and high-risk youth.
