Biography

Shola has over 27 years' experience in sustainability, corporate social responsibility and partnership development settings. He has secured £ 46,450.00 in grants for different community projects. He was invited by His Majesty King Charles III to the Holyrood Palace on 4th July 2023 to mark his Coronation for Shola's positive impact and valuable contributions in his community. It was a celebration of Scottish culture, achievement and community. Shola holds a PhD in Management from the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland. His research interest includes CSR, corporate community engagement, developmental partnerships, non-profit organisation management, oil and gas industry, sustainable development and blended learning. Also, he holds a Master’s Degree in Management Information System from Coventry University, UK; a Post Graduate Certificate in Research Methods from RGU, Aberdeen; a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and a Higher National Diploma from Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin.

He is currently a Lecturer with a UK university, the first ethnic minority Governor at Robert Gordon's College founded in 1750 and the Head of Partnership Development for RCCG Fountain of Love, Aberdeen, UK, responsible for stakeholder management. Prior to this time, he was a Lecturer at the Aberdeen Business School, Robert Gordon University, where he taught various management courses. Also, he was a Lecturer at INTI University, Nilai, Malaysia, where he taught management courses. His consulting experience covers businesses and not-for-profit organizations in the UK and Africa.

He is a member of the British Academy of Management, an associate member of the Energy Institute, UK. He is the current founding Chairperson of Nigerian Environmental Society, United Kingdom chapter. Furthermore, he is a member of the coordinating team for the RCCG UK School of Leadership, Scotland Region. In addition, he is a member of the team overseeing the Scotland chapter of EQUIP, a Dr John Maxwell organisation. Previously, he was the Assistant General Secretary of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO), Malaysia Chapter (2009/10). Since migrating to the UK in 2011, Shola has been actively involved in the community by volunteering with Scottish registered charities and sits on the board of trustees of two Scottish registered charities. His work has been featured in Press & Journal and Evening Express local media outlets.
