Olli Kuivalainen, D.Sc. (Econ. and Business Administration) is Professor of International Marketing and Entrepreneurship at Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT), School of Business, Finland and Professor of International Business and Management at Alliance Manchester Business School, UK.
Research Interests
Olli Kuivalainen, D.Sc. (Econ. and Business Administration) is Professor of International Marketing and Entrepreneurship at Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT), School of Business and Management. His expertise covers broad areas of international business, marketing, entrepreneurship and technology management and their interfaces. His research interests are in the areas of international entrepreneurship, and strategic management, marketing and internationalization of knowledge-intensive firms, the focus especially being on firms operating in the domains of software business and media, and information and communication technologies. Recent research covers areas such as decision-making in internationalisation, early and rapid internationalisation, digitalisation and its effect on value chain, governance among internationalising SMEs, and various marketing topics. His academic work has been published in journals such as Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of World Business, International Business Review, Journal of International Marketing, Technovation, International Marketing Review, International Journal of Production Economics and Journal of International Entrepreneurship.
Teaching Experience
Current teaching at LUT: International Entrepreneurship Challenge (www.lut.fi/iec), Strategic Global Marketing Management, International Marketing Research and Market Analysis, and thesis/dissertation supervision. I also coordinate courses such as Brand Management, Essential Sales and Negotiation Skills. Further, in the past I have also taught other courses such as Doing Business in Russia, Export-Import Operations, and International Business Strategies.
