The London School of Economics and Political Science
Dr Olivier Wouters is an Assistant Professor of Health Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where he is also Co-Director of the MSc Global Health Policy. He was previously a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Cape Town’s Health Economics Unit. He has consulted for the World Bank, the World Health Organization, and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development.
Olivier investigates the pricing and affordability of medicines internationally. He is currently leading research projects on the costs of drug development and the extent and influence of pharmaceutical lobbying in the United States. His research has been published in leading health policy and medical journals, including JAMA, JAMA Internal Medicine, The Lancet, and The Milbank Quarterly.
Olivier holds a PhD in Health Policy from the LSE. He also holds an MSc in International Health Policy (Health Economics) from the LSE and a BSc in International Relations from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
