Biography
Harvard Medical School
Olivia Lindly joined the Northern Arizona University (NAU) Department of Health Sciences in fall 2019. Prior to NAU, she completed the postdoctoral Harvard-wide Pediatric Health Services Research Fellowship program based at Massachusetts General Hospital. Olivia earned a Ph.D. in public health concentrated in health promotion and health behavior from Oregon State University, an M.P.H. concentrated in child and adolescent health from Johns Hopkins University, and a B.A. in psychology from Reed College. Her research broadly focuses on advancing maternal and child health, especially for children with special health care needs. Her more specific research interests include examining determinants of healthcare and health disparities for children with special health care needs, building family capacities (e.g., health literacy) to promote child health, and developing measures of attitudes and behaviors related to child health (e.g., parent use of complementary health approaches for children). In addition to her academic experience, Olivia provided behavioral health services to young children with substantiated maltreatment and developmental disabilities at two nonprofit organizations in Oregon, evaluated multi-site healthcare improvement projects while working at Altarum Institute, and completed a fellowship at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
