Biography

Awolusi Olawumi Dele, PhD, is an Associate Professor and the Associate Dean of College of Economics and Management at Kampala International University, where his duties and responsibilities include teaching and learning support; research and scholarship (to teach and supervise postgraduate/ graduate students of KIU, to research and publish academic articles and /or books in his area of specialisation, contribute to the development of research strategies, act as a referee and contribute to peer assessment/ membership of academic bodies, grant acquisition); managing academic vs. Industry/society relationship; liaison and networking (lead and develop external networks for example with external examiners and assessors, masters and PhD students supervised with colleagues from international universities); teamwork (Lead teams within areas of responsibility, act to resolve conflicts within teams); attend departmental meetings and Faculty Board meetings and discuss matters as per the agenda and to perform any other duties as may be assigned to me by the relevant University authorities.

As a seasoned Academic, he has had the pleasure of holding different positions in Academia in reputable institutions; he is a former Senior Lecturer at the Department of Accounting and Finance at Kampala International University, a former Senior Lecturer and acting Head of Department of Accounting and Finance at Elizade University- Ilara, Ondo State Nigeria, a former Associate Lecturer, Department of Business Administration and Marketing at Babcock University Ilishan- Remo, Ogun State Nigeria and even a Former Head of Operations (Assistant Manager) at the First Bank of Nigeria (FBN) Lagos, Nigeria. Currently, he holds a professorial position at Kampala International University, he is also an Adjunct Professor/ DBA instructor/ Thesis supervisor and a member of the DBA ethics review committee at the University of Liverpool online Postgraduate Management Programmes, as well as an Adjunct Professor/ Postgraduate supervisor at the University of Roehampton online Management programmes, London respectively.

He has a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) Business Administration (International Business) from Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria, he is pursuing another PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) in Economics, July 2017-Till Date Department of Economics, College of Law and Management Studies, University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa, Master of Science in International Business Management (graduated with Distinction) from University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria, a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Economics from University of Ado Ekiti, Ado Ekiti, Nigeria, and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Accounting from Ondo State University, Ado Ekiti, Nigeria.

Prof. Awolusi has attended, facilitated and presented papers at several conferences hosted by prestigious institutions such as Harvard University, the International Society for Engineers and Researchers and the Research Association for Interdisciplinary Studies to mention but a few, additionally, he has published in a multitude of local and international journals like the Journal of Economics and Behavioral Studies, the Journal of Social and Development Sciences, the International Journal of Diplomacy and Economy, the Global Journal of Commerce and Management Perspective, and South African Journal of Business Management among others.

He has supervised over 10 M.Sc./ MBA, PhD theses, and many Undergraduate Projects and currently supervising Two (2) M.Sc., two (2) MBA, and one (1) PhD dissertations/ thesis in Business and management-related fields. Courses taught include Strategic Planning and Management, Business Ethics, International Media Management, Strategic Management and Business Policy, Fundamentals of Accounting, International Business Negotiations

He is very accomplished, little wonder he has received numerous grants, scholarships, fellowships and awards on his professional journey, such as; Doctoral Research Grant in Economics for Three Years (About R150, 000) at the Dept. of Economics, College of Law and Management Studies, University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa July 2017-July 2021, Certified online DBA Thesis Supervisor Allowance ($2,000), University of Liverpool, United Kingdom 31st October 2017, Certified (Certification) online Faculty Allowance ($1750), University of Roehampton, United Kingdom September, 2016, College of Law and Management conference and travel Grant (About R10, 000) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa August, 23rd. - August, 24 th. 2018. among others.
