American Association for Physician Leadership

Norman Kahn is the executive vice president and chief executive officer of the Council of Medical Specialty Societies, (CMSS) a role in which he has served for more than ten years.

During his time at CMSS, Kahn ensured the successful development and maturation of specialty society clinical data registries and has enhanced the engagement of patients and families in the governance and activities of specialty societies.

In the past, Kahn has represented CMSS to the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the American Medical Association (AMA), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB), and the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).

Today, in addition to his roles at CMSS, Kahn also serves as convener of the Conjoint Committee on Continuing Education (CCCE), a coalition of 27 national organizations in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, and physician assistants. In this role, he addresses the opioid epidemic through the continuing education of health professionals
