Njoki Mwarumba Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Management and Disaster Preparedness at the University of Nebraska Omaha.Dr. Mwarumbas scholarship, pedagogy, research, volunteerism and community engagement lies at the intersection of global public health disasters, social vulnerability, and asset based approaches towards enhancing resilience and advocating for disaster justice. Asset based approaches - how non-dominant and under-studied communities apply their culture, philosophies, skills and spirituality to inform disaster perspectives.
