Niklas Kossow

Niklas Kossow is a Doctoral Student at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin. His research focuses on the use of digital technologies in the fight against corruption. In this context he is particularly interested in the role of civil society actors and the use of distributed ledger technology. Niklas also works as a freelance consultant, amongst others on behalf of Freedom House, Transparency International and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. Previously, he has worked with the United Nations Development Programme, the World Wide Web Foundation, the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB) and the German Bundestag. Most recently he was Communications Officer of the EU FP7 ANTICORRP project. Niklas holds a BA from University College London (UCL) and an MPP from the Hertie School of Governance. He is a doctoral fellow of the German National Academic Foundation, as well as a former fellow of the Hertie Foundation, the Mercator Foundation, the Transatlantic Digital Debate Programme and the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation.
