From 1985 to 2004 I was professor of English at CBS. Now I am an emeritus at CBS.
From 1991 to 2011 I was a member of the Danish language Council, from 2003 to 2011 as chairman and from 1999 to 2003 as vice chairman.
Having now retired I only occasionally publish papers on language and linguistics, often in Festschrifts. Since 2012 I have been a columnist for Kristeligt Dagblad, writing a fortnightly column on a variety of subjects I am interested in.
