American Association for Physician Leadership

Nicholas Lorenzo is the chief medical officer of MeMD, one of the leading telemedicine companies in the United States. With more than 25 years of live lecture, traditional publishing, and online health education experience, Lorenzo has served in many roles in both the clinical and leadership spheres.

After receiving his MD from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine with high distinction in 1988, Lorenzo went on to earn his board certification in neurology and earned several certificates and degrees, including his CPE and his Master of Science in Healthcare Management. In 1995, he founded a healthcare, clinical, legal, publishing/education, and technology consulting firm. He has also served many senior executive positions such as, co-founder, CEO, president, COO, and chief publishing officer for Boston Medical Publishing (acquired by McGraw-Hill in 2005), eMedicine (acquired by WebMD in 2006), and Pearlsreview (acquired by Gannett in 2008).

Today, in addition to his role as CMO, Dr. Lorenzo also works as a senior consultant for Discourse LLC, a virtual patient case education company. Lorenzo has also presented more than 1,000 live lecture courses and has been published nearly 300 times in journals, books, and other medical resources.
