Research Summary

My work examines the effects of political reform on everyday life at the individual and local level. To date I have been especially interested in examining how decentralisation and democratisation have been perceived and responded to in Indonesia.

I also have research interests in how policy efforts to improve ''human capital'' transform people''s lived experience, as well as their understandings of self and citizenship.
