Marketing and Innovation Manager at Gimnasio Fontana
My experience and deep interests:
I am based in: Bogotá
During the past 8 years, I have been focused on connecting my personal purpose with that one of my organization in a meaningful way. I have worked for 16 years in my family business, a private school in Bogota, Colombia, called Gimnasio Fontana. I strongly believe that education is a powerful tool for transformation and for impacting the world. I have found in education a fertile scenario for developing multiple projects that serve not only the purpose of building a better society through the discovery of human potential, but also allow me to cultivate my best-self by serving others.
Creativity and sustainability are my two main drivers for change and happiness. I am co-creating the construction of a learning system based on our pedagogy of creativity and sustainability and this challenging journey has involved many interesting milestones such as the making of a documentary based on creative thinking and the publishing of two books: “Las Cien Preguntas más creativas de los niños” (2011) and “La Creatividad en 7 Verbos” (2017). Both books aim to promote creativity as a valuable and needed competence in our complex world. Our dream is to take this learning system into the public and private schools that believe in a student-centered and innovative education.
I am currently leading the sustainability strategy of the School and we have become the first Colombian institution obtaining the Carbon Neutral certification. We invest in reforestation initiatives in our country and in social projects in rural areas, as well as in incorporating sustainability permanently into the curriculum. We have built a committed community of students, parents, teachers, and coworkers who realize the importance of having a sustainable approach to everyday life. I have been invited as a speaker in various sustainability conferences in Colombia.
