Presentation

I hold a MA in Anthropology and a PhD in Sociology from the University of Copenhagen. My main areas of research are identity processes in organizations, micro sociology, the sociology of profession, studies of encounters between organizational members, scientific theory and qualitative methods. I am a member of the Independent Research Fund Denmark (FSE) as well as research coordinator at the department.

A recent research project concerns the way in which principles of the bureaucracy, values of the market and norms of psychology influence the encounter between cititzens and professionals in public organizations. This project has resulted in the book The power of citizens and professionals in welfare encounters: the influence of bureaucracy, market and psychology and is part of Manchester University Press'' book series: Social and Political Power. I am currently working on the research project _Governance, co-production an vulnerability: citizen-staff interaction in homeless shelters _that uses 24 video recorded meetings between municipality caseworkers, shelter staff and homeless people.
