Mirjam Dageförde

Lecturer at Freie Universität Berlin

Biography

I am a Researcher and Lecturer at Freie Universität Berlin (Department of Social and Political Science), Associate Researcher at Sciences Po Paris (CEE & LIEPP), at Centre Marc Bloch (French-German Research Center for the Social Sciences) and Fellow at the WZB (Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin, Center for Civil Society Research).

I was awarded a PhD from Sciences Po Paris. While completing my PhD, I was awarded a Max Weber Fellowship at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence and I was an OxPo Fellow at the University of Oxford, Nuffield College & Department of Politics and International Relations. I was also chercheuse invitée at the Paris School of Economics (invited by Jean-François Laslier and Thomas Piketty).

I have an interdisciplinary background, holding degrees in Political Science, Economics and Empirical Social and Political Analysis.

My current research focuses on (failing) representation, including three research clusters:

  • Failing representation - citizens' perspective
  • The conflict on human values in Europe
  • Collaborative projects with Political Scientists (e.g. Sciences Po, Freie Universität Berlin/WZB, University of Stockholm/Copenhagen) and Economists (e.g. Paris School of Economics/ENS)
