Biography

GIBS Business School

Mike Holland is an economist and director of PriceMetrics (Pty) Ltd, an economic research company specialising in industrial, competition and regulatory economics. He has advised companies, legal firms, and other organisations on a wide range of competition and regulatory policy issues.

Mike’s prior experience includes Head of Research and Development in the treasuries of Rand Merchant Bank (1998-2003) and First National Bank of Southern Africa (1988-1998) where he managed a team of research analysts responsible for quantitative risk analysis and financial model-building, and product and market development including derivatives and structured products.

While at RMB, Mike was Dean of the RMB Academy, the training division of the bank. His previous positions include working as a financial manager in FNB and Barclays National Bank (1984-1988), a financial planning manager and analyst in the U.K. and South Africa (1975-1984) and as an economist in the UK motor industry (1972-1974).
