Michael Young develops statistical models for prediction of ambient air pollution using regression and smoothing techniques. As a PhD student in epidemiology in the University of Washington, his research focuses on analyzing the effects of air pollution exposure on cardiorespiratory and metabolic diseases. His statistical specialties include spatial analysis and model validation. He is an enthusiastic R language user and enjoys using R for parallel-process computing, big data analysis and elegant programming. Young has a master’s in public health in epidemiology from the University of Washington.
