Biography

Cox School of Business

I was a professor at SMU for 31 years and before that in South Africa. I have just retired from my full-time position at SMU but plan to continue to teach there on an adjunct basis as needed. Prior to entering academia, I was involved with investment banking in South Africa. I was actively involved in executive education at SMU. My primary interest at this stage of my career is to find time to write a couple of books and to rewrite my book on Accounting Theory. I am actively involved in the community. I teach Sunday School at Wilshire Baptist Church and am available to lead classes at other churches. I have been a member of the East Dallas Rotary Club and am a past president.

Specialties: Management control systems, accounting theory issues
