Research interests
Applying engineering principles to understanding natural materials and systems. I am interested in the link between microstructure and material behaviour, for example understanding the effect of collagen structure and material morphology on arterial and soft tissue mechanical behaviour. On a larger scale, I am interested in the mechanical behaviour of natural systems, for example joints, tendons and ligaments. I have worked on a number of projects with medics and vets quantifying the effectiveness of different repair strategies.
