Dr. Michael S. Salvador was most recently the Executive Director of Executive Education Programs for the Michael J. Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University (KSU), an institutional member of the University System of Georgia. In this role, he had overall responsibility for the development and delivery of specialized educational programs for individual business entities, as well as non-degree and certificate-based programs offered publicly to mid-career individuals. Prior to this role, he directed Coles College’s award-winning Executive MBA Program for five years. As a faculty retiree, he currently is serving as Assistant to the Dean of Coles College for Strategic Initiatives.
Prior to his involvement with KSU, Salvador was Global Product Manager for The International Center for Executive Options, a unit of Drake Beam Morin, Inc., a leading provider of transition consulting services for senior executives. Earlier, he was Founder and President of MSCounselors, a consultancy focused primarily on business strategy advisory services. Before launching MSCounselors, Dr. Salvador held a series of management positions in the professional services sector. These included: Co-Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer of the Tatum CIO Partners firm at its inception, providing interim executive technology leadership solutions to a broad client base; Human Capital Practice Leader at Thomas Group, Inc., an international consulting firm; Managing Vice-President – Organizational Consulting at Right Management Consultants, responsible for the firm’s human capital management consulting practice in an eight-state area; President and CEO of The Atlanta Consulting Group, a premier organizational consulting and leadership development firm which combined with Right Management Consultants; and International Director of Strategic Alliances for D&B Software Services, Inc., a unit of the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation.
The first 20 of his 35-year career in the professional services sector were spent with Ernst & Young LLP, where he directed consulting practices in four major U.S. cities, and then served three years as a National Partner and member of the firm’s Management Committee overseeing the strategic management, organizational, and operations consulting practices of the entire U.S. firm.
Dr. Salvador has advised companies and individuals on a broad range of issues, with particular emphasis on business strategy and planning, human capital and career management, mergers and acquisitions, development of business-to-business strategic alliances, operations improvement, and business process change. He holds a B.S. Degree in Mathematics from Loyola University (New Orleans), and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Management Sciences from Case Western Reserve University.
Current and past service on Boards or Advisory Boards includes: Leadership Engage, an initiative of the Cobb County (GA) Chamber of Commerce to link retired executives with not-for-profit organizations seeking Board-level leadership; The Graduate School Alliance for Education in Coaching, a multi-university consortium dedicated to academic standards for the executive coaching profession; Community Health Charities of Georgia; TechBridge; Alzheimer’s Association – Atlanta Chapter; Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce; LaSalle University; and Southern Methodist University.
