Michael A. Light, MSW, MPH, LICSW, LMP is the social worker with the Homeless Palliative Care team at Harborview Medical Center, an innovative outreach program that aims to increase access to equitable palliative care services for people facing serious illness and housing insecurity. Michael earned an MSW from the University of Washington (UW) School of Social Work where he now teaches advanced clinical practice. He is earning a MPH from the UW Department of Global Health and provides technical support for Partnering for Health focused on developing medical social work and palliative care practice in Cambodia. He also shares leadership for the Global and Cross Cultural Palliative Care Initiative within the Cambia Palliative Care Center of Excellence. Michael enjoys hiking with his husband (also a social worker) and dreams of walking across the US (his husband does not).
