Biography

Michael T. Laudizio is an instructor for the School of Accountancy & MIS at DePaul University where he teaches graduate tax courses. He is the president and founder of L. A. Tax, Inc., a highly specialized federally licensed tax firm that represents clients of CPA, law and bankruptcy firms; and entrepreneur-minded individuals and their businesses.

Laudizio is a highly accomplished tax executive and corporate governance professional with more than 25 years of global tax experience, which he gained by leading companies in their respective industries. He has successfully completed dozens of mergers and acquisitions. Laudizio has also successfully defended collectively more than 1,600 tax audits before the IRS, foreign taxing authorities in six countries and more than 300 different multi-state/local taxing jurisdictions. He has collaborated with investment bankers on two successfully thwarted hostile takeovers and negotiated more than three dozen tax and economic incentives throughout the U.S. and Ireland.

Laudizio is currently a member with the National Association of Enrolled Agents and American Society of Tax Problem Solvers (ASTPS). He is also a Certified Tax Resolution Specialist and a long-standing member of the Chicago Tax Club. He is the past recipient of the prestigious Outstanding Tax Professional, which was awarded by the ASTPS. Lastly, he serves as chair of the Illinois Processing Advisory Board for the Illinois Department of Revenue.
