Biography

Michael Chlopak is an Adjunct Instructor in the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate-Graduate and is teaching Risk & Portfolio Management. Michael recently retired after 37 years serving as a Managing Director for Citigroup’s RE franchise ($60B) where he was responsible for Risk and Portfolio Management. His leadership contributed to building businesses for Citigroup which helped achieved leading positions in the capital markets league tables for equities, bonds, corporate lending, and CMBS. This was achieved while attaining investment grade ratings. Michael worked through many business cycles including serving as a lead real estate coordinator for Citi during the 2007-2008 financial crisis. He has recruited and trained many RE professionals and serves on advisory boards of universities. He holds an MBA and BA from Rutgers University.
