Presentation

At the moment I am studying (foreign) languages more on a macro level: what can languages do, what do languages do and what do people believe/think about languages? How do these beliefs inform our actions? How do they inform decisions in the company or in the society about language policy? How do they inform the language management at individual and non-individual level? How do they for instance inform the development of curricula? etc.

Primary research areas

  • Language, culture and cognition (conceptualisations)
  • Language policy/management; foreign languages in society
  • Intercultural communication
  • Language for Specific Purposes
  • Danish-German/German-Danish questions

Courses

  • Intercultural professional communication and interaction
  • Knowledge communication across languages
  • Metaphors and cultures

Supervision

  • I supervise and have been supervising several master theses where foreign languages/the foreign language or the language area have been in focus
