Mehmet Mercangöz received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Boğaziçi University, İstanbul, Turkey, in 2000 and 2002, respectively and the Ph.D. degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, CA, USA, in 2007, all in chemical engineering.,He joined ABB Corporate Research, Baden-Dättwil, Switzerland, after completing the Ph.D. degree in 2007, and since then worked as a Scientist and Principal Scientist with the Control and Optimization Group, which he has been leading since 2012. His current research at ABB is focused on modeling, control, and optimization of a wide range of systems such as gas compressor stations, power plants, and electrical energy storage solutions.
