Background
McKinley L. Blackburn is the James A. Morris Professor of Economics. He holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of South Carolina and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Harvard University. He spent a year as a visiting fellow at the Russell Sage Foundation in New York. He currently teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in econometrics and labor economics.
Blackburn received the 1998 Research Development Award for the Darla Moore School of Business.
Research
Blackburn''s current research interests lie in three areas: the effects of minimum wages on employment, and related outcomes and the appropriate method for estimating the effects of individual characteristics on their wages and bank behavior in home mortgage markets. His recent publications includes articles in the Journal of Economic Geography, the Journal of Urban Economics, and Labour Economics.
