Biography
Maxime Cohen joined New York University Stern School of Business as an Assistant Professor of Information, Operations and Management Sciences in September 2016.
Professor Cohen’s research explores the intersection of data analytics and operations management. He is interested in pricing applications such as retail, sustainability and cloud services.
Before joining NYU Stern, Professor Cohen was a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Google NYC and has collaborated with companies such as Oracle Retail, IBM Research and Accenture. In each research project, Maxime worked closely with the company to identify a practical operational problem and helped guide practitioners through pricing decisions using such tools as optimization, machine learning, stochastic modeling and game theory. He previously worked in finance as a high-frequency trader and co-founded a private real-estate investment company.
He received his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology and holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
