Darla Moore School of Business

Maureen Petkewich is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Management Science at the Moore School. She received her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and Research and M.S. in Statistics both from the University of South Carolina. She earned a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame.

During her time at South Carolina, Petkewich has been highly involved in the creation and assessment of Carolina Core courses in analytical reasoning, problem solving and information literacy. She redesigned multiple Carolina Core courses for online learning. Due to her experience and expertise with large undergraduate courses, she served as a faculty fellow at the UofSC’s Center for Teaching Excellence from 2014 to 2018.

Petkewich’s research interests include statistics education, educational research and measurement, and a growing interest in data visualization.

Prior to joining South Carolina, Petkewich served as a professional statistician at Palmetto GBA. In this position, she used statistical analysis of Medicare claims data to support anti-fraud efforts.
