Biography
Matthias Mehrtens is vice president for information systems at Alfred Kärcher GmbH & Co. KG, a post he has held since 2011. He is based in the Stuttgart area of Germany and is responsible for Kärcher's IT in 60 countries.
From 2003 till 2011 he was CIO of a utility company, prior to which he was responsible for the worldwide standardization of system landscape and processes at another utility company. At the start of his industrial career he was responsible for IT at a company in the sanitary industry. Mehrtens has a doctorate in economics from the University of Paderborn and is honorary professor at Niederrhein University.
