Biography
Coles College of Business
I realized that being from Los Angeles California and identifying as Chicana no longer has a negative connotation! I am excited to tell the world about my authentic language, myths, and culinary experiences. My parents no longer have to say they are white when they cross the Mexican border from visiting family and are liberated as proud Mexican Americans. I have lived in a world of so many barriers and oppression but through resilience, survival, and making many mistakes I have overcome the odds and strive to be a better human with kind superpowers.
I possess a sharp eye for detail, which I use to be innovative and think strategically. I work well under pressure and can produce high-quality work in short periods of time. I have strong interpersonal skills and work with a wide variety of people. I am unique in that I understand the numbers, work well with people and I have always been intrigued by computers. I focus on the consumer journey, experience and satisfaction.
Outside of work, I am a philanthropist in promoting sustainability in travel and helping foster/incarcerated youth. For fun I enjoy long bike rides, swimming, hiking and playing golf. I love to travel and have been to 138 cities, 57 countries on 6 continents on 21 ocean cruises, 11 river cruises, two land tours and the rest on a personal journey. I have flown close to 1 million miles in my life time.
