Biography

Mark Cooper is a Portfolio Manager and analyst at First Eagle Investment Management. He is a co-portfolio manager on the International Small Cap Value strategy. Mark also is a global small cap generalist and covers oil field services, surface transportation and logistics across all capitalizations.

Prior to joining First Eagle, Mark had both research analyst and portfolio management responsibilities covering stocks globally at PIMCO. Before PIMCO, he was a Partner and Portfolio Manager at Omega Advisors where his research focused on industrials, basic materials, commodities, and energy. Mark's background also includes past experience at Pequot Capital as a Research Analyst and JP Morgan as a Portfolio Manager in fixed income, commodities, and currency derivatives. Since 2004, he has taught Applied Value Investing at the Heilbrunn Center for Graham & Dodd Investing at the Columbia Business School.

Mark has a BS from MIT and earned his MBA from Columbia Business School where he undertook the value investing program. He is a former U.S. Army officer. Mark holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
