Biography
Mark J. Bittle, DrPH, MBA has an extensive background in health care administration. An experienced health care executive, he has served in a number of senior leadership positions in ambulatory services development, physician practice management and integration, and hospital operations management primarily in an academic medicine environment. He is currently a Director with LifeBridge Health responsible for service-line development and integration. His background also includes developing managed care infrastructure and management of health care under capitation. Dr. Bittle is experienced at developing successful teams and metrics-driven improvements. His areas of interest include patient identity management and patient identification, care delivery model integration and innovation, and using evidence-based management to lead organizations through complex change to improve organizational performance.
Dr. Bittle joined the Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School (School of Continuing Studies) in 2004 after many years as a guest lecturer. He was promoted to Senior Professional Instructor in 2012. He teaches Health Care and Business: Theory and Practice for Medical Services and Leadership in Organizations. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor (2010) in Health Policy and Management in the Bloomberg School of Public Health where he teaches Management and Organizational Behavior.
